AWIC Community and Social Services is a non-profit, non-political, secular, multi-lingual, multi-cultural social and community service charitable agency committed to serving people from different cultural backgrounds. The mission of AWIC Community and Social Services is to assist newcomers to integrate and participate in Canadian society while maintaining their ethnic heritage.
The need to publish and maintain a current guide to services for the people in Algoma District has been an identified need for several years. Two separate yet complementary Street Smart guides were designed in order to address this gap in service.
